FIRES ARE DAMAGING OUR COMMUNITY

#FireSafety | We are supporting Staffordshire Fire & Rescue, , following a recent increase in fires across our rural communities.

Fire crews have been extremely busy responding to these incidents, many of which place people, property, and the environment at serious risk.

Fires in rural areas can spread rapidly and are often difficult to control. They present significant dangers, including:

🔥 Risk to life and public safety – Fires can escalate quickly, particularly in remote locations.
🏠 Threats to homes, farm buildings, and infrastructure – Properties, crops, fencing, and equipment can be destroyed in minutes.
🐦🐄 Severe impact on wildlife and livestock – Fires devastate natural habitats and cause injury or worse, to animals.
🚒 Pressure on emergency services – Every fire response diverts vital resources away from other emergencies.

To support prevention and community safety, patrols, by both the Police and Fire Service, will be increased in known hotspot locations, focusing on areas where fires have previously occurred.

We urge everyone to act responsibly:

- Do not light fires or barbecues in rural or open areas
- Dispose of cigarettes and waste safely
- Report any fires immediately by calling 999
- Report suspicious behaviour via 101
